The Long Way Around

Wide Frame started in 2008, the year my wife handed me my first camera and told me to go point it at something. My son was already a year old, born in 2007, and somewhere between those two moments the habit turned into something closer to a practice. This is the work I make when nobody is getting married. Landscapes, quiet portraits caught on the street, small towns we pass through on the way to somewhere else. Not always epic mountain vistas, just the version of the world that makes you slow down for a second. Some of it is shot on film, some digital, and there is no real schedule to any of it, just whenever we travel or whenever I can sneak out with a camera. If one ends up on your wall, I hope it is because it fits the feeling of the room.
