Privacy Policy

We're a husband and wife photography team, not a data company. This page explains what information we collect when you visit mckinleygphotography.com or work with us, what we do with it, and the choices you have. Plain language, no tricks.
The short version
- We collect what you hand us (your name, email, and wedding date when you inquire, for example) plus standard website analytics.
- We use it to reply to you, plan and deliver your photography, and understand how people use our site.
- We never sell your information. Ever.
- You can ask us to show you, fix, or delete what we have at any time. One email does it.
1. What we collect
Information you give us directly:
- Inquiry form. When you reach out through our site we collect your name, email, wedding date, location, and your message, plus your phone number and Instagram handle if you choose to share them. We also note how you found us (a referral, a search, an ad) so we know what's working.
- Guide requests. If you ask for our wedding guide, we collect your name and email so we can send it to you.
- Booking and payment. Contracts, questionnaires, invoices, and payments run through Dubsado, our client management system. Card details are handled by Dubsado's payment processors. We never see or store your full card number.
- Galleries. Your photos are delivered through Pic-Time, which may ask for your name and email to open a gallery, save favorites, or order prints.
- Conversations. Emails, texts, calls, and anything you share with us while we plan your day together.
Information collected automatically when you visit:
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager to see which pages get visited, how people arrive, and roughly where visitors are located. This relies on cookies and similar technologies.
- Advertising. The Meta Pixel lets us measure our Facebook and Instagram ads and show ads to people who have visited our site.
- Behavior analytics. Hotjar helps us understand how visitors use the site through anonymized heatmaps and session recordings. Typed form entries are masked by default.
- Hosting and security. Cloudflare serves our site and logs technical details like your IP address and browser type to keep things fast and protected.
- Device and browser details. Screen size, browser, operating system, and the page that referred you. Standard information any website receives.
2. How we use it
- To reply to your inquiry and check whether your date is available.
- To send you the guide or resource you asked for.
- To plan, photograph, and deliver your wedding, including contracts, invoices, timelines, and galleries.
- To send occasional emails about our work. You can unsubscribe anytime with one click.
- To measure our website and advertising, so we spend our time and money on what actually helps couples find us.
- To keep the site secure and to meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
3. Who we share it with
We share information only with the tools that help us run the business, and only what each one needs to do its job:
- Dubsado for contracts, questionnaires, scheduling, and invoicing.
- Pic-Time for gallery hosting, downloads, and print orders.
- Supabase and Resend, which store inquiry form submissions and deliver our email notifications.
- Google (Analytics, Tag Manager, and Fonts) for measurement and site display.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Hotjar for advertising measurement and site analytics.
- Cloudflare for hosting and security.
We may also share information if the law requires it or to protect our rights and safety. We do not sell personal information, rent lists, or pass your details to other wedding vendors without asking you first.
4. Cookies and your choices
Cookies are small files that help websites remember visitors. You can clear or block them in your browser settings and the site will still work. If you'd rather not be included in analytics or advertising:
- Google Analytics: install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Meta Pixel: adjust your Facebook ad preferences or your device's ad tracking settings.
- Hotjar: use Hotjar's opt-out page.
- Email: every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Or just reply and tell us.
5. Your photos
- The photographs we take are covered by your contract and our Terms of Service. We retain copyright and may share favorites in our portfolio, on social media, and with the vendors from your day, unless you ask us in writing to keep them private.
- Online galleries are private links, not public pages. Anyone you share the link with can see the gallery, so treat it like a house key.
- We never sell your images or license them to third parties for unrelated advertising.
6. How long we keep it
Inquiries are kept while there's a chance we'll work together and for a reasonable time after, so we can pick the conversation back up if you return. Client records (contracts, invoices, correspondence) are kept as long as tax and legal obligations require, typically seven years. Galleries stay online for the period in your contract or Pic-Time plan, and we keep archive copies of your images as part of our backup practice. If you want something deleted sooner, ask.
7. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us what personal information we have about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask us to stop sending you marketing. Residents of California and some other states have additional rights under their privacy laws, including the right to know how information is used and to request deletion. Email info@mckinleygphotography.com and we'll respond within 30 days. We will never treat you differently for exercising these rights.
8. Children
Our website and services are for adults planning weddings. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Kids do show up in wedding photographs, of course, and those images are handled under the couple's contract.
9. Security
The site runs over HTTPS, we use reputable vendors with their own security programs, and access to client information is limited to the two of us. No system is perfect, so if you think something has gone wrong with your information, tell us and we'll look into it right away.
10. Changes to this policy
When we update this page we'll change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll let current clients know directly.
