Maranda and Cody became my clients around the Fall of 2019 and I finally had a chance to photographer their wedding.
I am a St Louis Wedding photographer but when you have a couple like Maranda and Cody you want to drive to the end of the earth, but Illinois is not too far.
We started with an engagement shoot at SIUE gardens in Illinois. It was kind of a family shoot because they brought their daughter (she was super cute) she was shy at first but warmed right up. What we didn’t know was Maranda was expecting, so technically it was a maternity shoot as well. Haha
There was something else we found out during the engagement shoot, Maranda has a prosthesis. The only reason I found this out was by asking them to walk down a hill. I was shocked, there was absolutely no way I could tell. That meant there were some poses that I could not do with her and Cody, it was totally fine, I did not want to put her in an uncomfortable pose like having Cody try and dip her. The reason I am writing about this now is that it comes up in the wedding more on that later.
I was thinking she would push the wedding back. But she didn’t. Maranda and Cody are troopers they powered through and had their wedding on their scheduled day. Despite COVID and despite just having a baby. As I said troopers.
As a St Louis wedding photographer I get to see a lot of venues in fact I wrote a blog on some affordable St Louis Wedding Venues. Marand and Cody had their wedding at The Campground House, located out in the middle of nowhere close to Edwardsville, IL, the grounds were amazing, very well maintained with a beautiful lake and a paved dance/reception area. It was an awesome little place. That I had never heard of before.
The love they showed and the fun we all had was something this St Louis Wedding Photographer will never forget.
During the garter toss, remember earlier when I mention that Maranda had a prosthetic leg. Well, she had mentioned to me during the Engagement session that she wanted Cody to remove it during the garter toss. Not everyone knew about the prosthetic, so when Cody removed it there were some surprised faces.
It was such an honor being a part of this amazing couple’s wedding, and I hope they enjoy all the beautiful wedding photography we captured from all the happy and excited guests at this love-filled event.
I would like to thank all the other vendors that helped make this day amazing. The Ceremony Officiant Kenneth Deihl did an amazing job with all the vows and the I do’s. The Make-up artist/hairstylist Krista Bennett (who was also the sister in law) for helping the girls get all dolled up for this amazing event.
The florist Main Street Florist that made some amazing bouquets for the Maranda and the wedding party. The Catering company Brass door which had some amazing chicken! The Bakery Bailey Cakes who did a stunning job on the wedding cake, I loved photographing that thing and eating it.
The DJ Chad Burton who kept the party alive and was amazing to work with, communicated very well with us so our night went very smoothly. And let’s not forget the Bunkhouse Bartenders who helped keep all the glasses full.
I wish Maranda and Cody the best with their little growing family.
